Club “Friday 13” presents the exhibition “\u010ciurlionis – the First Lithuanian Cosmonaut”, dedicated to the exploration of creative connections with space.<\/p>\n

\u010ciurlionis’ cosmic achievements are obvious and not adequately understood even today, which has prompted a search for the reasons for his genius beyond Earth.<\/p>\n

The mystical world of M.K.C., filled with symbols and mysteries, is not confused with the fragments of life on this side of reality. Both the contemporary consciousness of smart technologies and \u010ciurlionis’ creative legacy, which intertwines the ethno-cultural spirit of Lithuanian ancestors with the universality of the world’s cultural basis, do not give a clear answer to the questions that arise, but leave us to find the coordinates for ourselves in a state of weightlessness, and to feel like cosmonauts of sorts.<\/p>\n

Klubo Friday 13 The project is dedicated to the exploration of creative connections with space. Modern achievements in cosmonautics and the little-studied field of M.K.\u010ciurlionis’ space activities attract the thoughts of our club members.<\/p>\n

The starting point<\/p>\n

On the radio we hear the idea that the images of the cosmos, the arrangement of the planets and the constellation nebulae depicted in M.K.C.’s paintings are identical to those in the telescope and satellite images published by NASA. Only they were published and taken more recently, just a few decades ago. How did M.K.C. manage to do this? The cosmic achievements of \u010ciurlionis’ work are obvious, but they are not adequately understood today, which encourages the creators of our club to search for the reasons for his genius beyond Earth.<\/p>\n

Project idea<\/p>\n

The idea that the creation of the Universe is not complete, but an ongoing process that continues in the work of each creator, has led us to take on tasks that go beyond the development of normal activities.<\/p>\n

In our club’s opinion, \u010ciurlionis’ “cosmic” is betrayed by his genius. In general terms, genius is of extraterrestrial origin and belongs to the Cosmos. There everything is great, perfect, eternal. A man who has received the gift of genius often cannot bear such a burden; life on earth often seems grey, difficult, meaningless. He is constantly tormented by an unbearable longing for perfection, drawn to return to the place where the gift of genius came from. Such people are haunted by an incessant and intense creativity alternating with anaemia until the end of days.<\/p>\n

Activities<\/p>\n

We have tried to gather all possible information on the evidence of MK\u010c space activities. \u010ciurlionis’ creative legacy, where the ethno-cultural presence of the Lithuanian ancestral spirit is intertwined with the universality of the world’s cultural foundation, does not give a clear answer to the questions that arise.<\/p>\n

I have had to resort to articles that explore his biography according to the typical scheme of the fate of the Lithuanian artist-genius: a difficult childhood, the struggle for the development of his innate abilities, the exhausting pursuit of a goal, poverty, non-recognition, illness and death in emigration. The mystical world of M.K.C.’s works, filled with symbols and mysteries, is his real life, not confused with the fragments of life on this side of reality. The patterns of activity of the current consciousness, influenced by smart technologies, do not give a clear answer to the cosmic questions. The answer should be sought in M.K.C.’s works and his biography. If this is not possible, our club members are determined to try to create it… We are working on a remote networking approach, which enables us to connect individually creative brains in one network for a common cause. In the course of these processes, we have come closer to our goal: to present the ideas of \u010ciurlionis’s work and our controversial creative versions in the language of contemporary art, in a language that is understandable to today’s consumer. The results of our work are presented in a concentrated form accessible to all – an exhibition.<\/p>\n

Despite the apparent separation and distancing of current progressive scientific technological and artistic, archetypal-mythological thinking, this is the content of the same modern human worldview.<\/p>\n

The members of our club once again remind us that man and the cosmos are composed of the same chemical elements.<\/p>\n
